first_img Email the author The members of the Lydia Class of First Baptist Church of Troy expressed their support of, and appreciation for local  law enforcement officers on Tuesday morning when they presented gift bags to Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas and the sheriff’s deputies.Linda Brantley, Lydia Class missions chair, said the gift baskets were, in reality, small things but were indications of the huge debt of gratitude the class members owe to the deputies of the Pike County Sheriff’s Department for their dedication and commitment to protecting and serving the people of Pike County. COVID-19 places limitations on how appreciation can be shown to the law enforcement officers but the mission of the Lydia Class is to support those who put themselves on line every day so that the county remains a safe place for everyone, Brantley said.The class members had prayer with the attending members of the Pike County Sheriff’s Department asking for God’s protection and guidance during this unprecedented time in America’s history.
