Share Facebook Twitter Google + LinkedIn Pinterest Rain dominates the state today after a very “iffy” overnight period, especially up north. This morning we are dealing with a little more ice after the last 12 hours of freezing rain threatening far NW Ohio. Action switches over to all rain quickly this morning by mid-morning, and then the rain continues through the rest of the day. Rain totals today will be from .5”-1”, and we wont rule out an inch and a half in some localized spots for the entire day. However, near and after sunset tonight, precipitation continues, and we can see a switch back to light, wet snow. This can lead to a coating to 2” with coverage at 70% of the state. The highest totals will be in east central, northeast and north central Ohio, with the biggest in NE OH. Snow ends as we move through the first half of the day Wednesday. Winds will pick up, though overnight tonight. The map at right shows cumulative rain for today and tonight through tomorrow morning. We expect a mix of clouds and sun tomorrow as the remains of today’s event move off to the east. Winds will subside through the day, but we may still see some wind chill problems, at least early on. While we expect cooler temps, we should end up near normal. Partly sunny skies continue through Thursday. Friday developments are a case study on why it is not smart to really ramp up potentially large winter systems a week in advance. Strong low pressure is still set to move across the state and the eastern corn belt. The low still is on a SW to NE trajectory. However, model runs this most recent time around have seemingly lost all moisture potential. We are not changing our forecast yet still looking at the potential for rain, ice and snow, but track and available moisture remain as the most important variables. We are not going to step out on any of those this morning, but will continue to watch the storm potential. Right now we think that there is potential for at least .25″-.5″ of liquid equivalent precipitation. Windy and colder for Saturday, and then we stay chilly Sunday and Monday. Temps below normal. We should see some sub-zero lows for the morning of Presidents day. Tuesday the 19th and Wednesday the 20th are picking up a little more snow in this morning’s forecast. We see snow developing form midday forward next Tuesday, and it continues through at least midday Wednesday. 2-6” of snow can fall on Tuesday, and Wednesday combined. Snow coverage will be around 80% of the state. For the extended period, partly to mostly sunny skies return for next Thursday through Sunday. Colder air with another snow event arrives for Monday the 25th and goes through Tuesday the 26th. Accumulations are likely.

XY went under in 2007 and its founder, Peter Ian Cummings, filed for bankruptcy this year. One of the few resources he had for the court to work with was the XY user list. The selling off of private information, gathered under the supposition of privacy, is bad enough. Even worse if you’re forced into it. And positively untenable when the information is connected to kids who are dealing with a dawning sexual reality that in some instances is even more fraught than what straight kids go through. CNET‘s report on the case was chilling. Shoshana Schiff, the attorney for the bankruptcy trustee, made a statement with some ugly implications. “Any property listed on the debtor’s bankruptcy petition is property of the bankruptcy estate and my client intends to administer those assets for the benefit of creditors.” The creditors involved are Mr. Cummings’ private creditors, not the magazine’s. But more importantly, if the only thing of any import here are the “benefits of creditors” that means the highest bidder gets the names and information. What if the highest bidder is a creep? (I know what you’re thinking: “A creep involved with the Internet?” But it happens!) Another thing to keep in mind is the possible reaction of U.S. legislators to this action. Senators and Representatives may be slow to act but they have juice when they finally elect to do so. Three recent examples we’ve covered since May are an Online Privacy Bill, the House Committee on the Judiciary’s grilling of Facebook and 30 State Attorneys General meeting to decide whether to investigate Google. The privacy bill’s review draft includes this statement. “A covered entity may not sell, share, or otherwise disclose covered information to an unaffiliated party without first obtaining the express affirmative consent of the individual to whom the covered information relates.”If the highest bidder winds up with a huge list of vulnerable gay teens, it would hardly be surprising to see U.S. lawmakers respond. New West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini has hinted that he will be making more signings this summer following Andy Carroll and Winston Reid’s injury blows earlier this monthBoth players have provoked old injuries during the club’s pre-season training program at their camp in Switzerland and have now been sent home, upon confirmation that they will likely be out for the next three months.Since his appointment in May, Pellegrini has been busy in the transfer market for West Ham and has already acquired eight new players with the midfielders Felipe Anderson and Jack Wilshere the latest recruits. But Pellegrini has suggested that more may be on the way in wake of Carrol and Reid’s latest injury setbacks.Report: Rice is committed to West Ham not a United move George Patchias – September 4, 2019 Declan Rice is committed to his West Ham contract and not a move to Manchester United. In an interview reported by football.london, Rice opens up…“We are obviously very sad to hear that Andy and Winston have suffered setbacks,” the Chilean told Football London.“This is a big blow for them and us, but we hope to see them back in action as soon as possible.“It does mean that we have lost two senior players in key areas, though, and we’ll continue to work hard with the owners to make further additions to strengthen the playing squad, beyond the five new signings already confirmed.”Pellegrini will take charge of his first competitive game at West Ham on August 11 in a trip to Liverpool for their opening game of the Premier League season.

Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray has heaped praises on Harrison Reed, after the midfielders impressive performance against West Bromwich Albion.Mowbray insists it wasn’t just his stunning goal which earned Rovers a point that caught the eye, but his all-action display in the middle of the park.Since moving to Lancashire on a season-long loan from Southampton, the 23-year-old has primarily been asked to fulfil the duties of a winger, largely due to the fine form of midfield duo Richie Smallwood and Corry Evans. However, the Blackburn Rovers manager boss insists he now faces a dilemma on his hands after Reed’s dazzling display in midfield.Asked to sum up Reed’s contribution at The Hawthorns, Mowbray said, according to the club’s official website:“Immense!Forgotten football stars – Morten Gamst Pedersen Boro Tanchev – August 25, 2019 Here is another forgotten football star we are going to talk about – the former Blackburn midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen.“He’s been fantastic playing in a wide position, working like a trojan, running forward, blocking off the wide play, helping his full-back, in to out, in to out, and yet playing centre-mid today, it shows you where his true position really is on the pitch.“And yet when I’ve got (Corry) Evans and (Richie) Smallwood playing centre-mid for the last 18 months it’s really difficult to put Harrison Reed in there and leave one of them out every week.“So we’ll find a position for Harrison. He’s a fantastic player, but beyond his playing ability, his personality fits in amazingly well with our group.“The lads love him to bits and I think he’s settled in well, so let’s wait and see.“It was a fantastic performance again – an immense performance from Reed today – and he topped it off with a great goal.”
More information: Press release Explore further The company, in Denver, Colorado, has a solution that it says attracts, disorients, and in turn kills insects. Its technology consists of a light bulb and a solar panel. The solar panel charges a battery during the day that powers proprietary light bulbs which automatically come on via a light sensor and timer system at night. The bulbs are designed in such a way to attract a significant amount of bugs. The bulbs emit a special light that lures the insects. When the insects come within six to twelve inches of the light bulb. an additional light frequency wave disorients the bug and it falls into a water collection bin located below the light and then drowns. A video taken at Emery’s Berry Patch, 60-acre farm that grows blueberries, is full of praise for the product. “Our customers are walking through the fields and they pick the berries and eat them. We need to have the safest environment we can provide,” said the spokesman. He said that this year as in other years he would have had to cope with caterpillar damage but with AgriSolar he has seen a 90 percent reduction in pests. He said the solution was a no-brainer.“Nobody wants pesticide residue.”Most large, two-bulb units from the company are priced between $1,000 and $1,200. Each unit, depending on size, is designed to cover an area of between 3,000 to 6,000 square meters and to last seven to ten years, according to the company. At the time of this writing, the company’s site posted some “Testing Reports” to show the product’s efficacy. Light from a water bottle could brighten millions of poor homes (w/ video) © 2011 PhysOrg.com (PhysOrg.com) — AgriSolar this week announced an aggressive push into the European market for its no-chemicals insect killer that makes use of solar power to heat special insect-zapping light bulbs. AgriSolar said it plans to open several European sales and distribution offices with European partners. Its push is intended to capitalize on EU legislation that supports reducing the health risks of certain chemical pesticides. The AgriSolar solutions have a foothold in China. Some 40,000 units are on farms in provinces throughout China. Liang Chao Wei, AgriSolar’s Chief Executive Officer, said the insect control systems have seen great success in the Chinese agricultural market, which allowed the company to grow revenues quickly. AgriSolar Solutions is described on the company site as a Colorado Corporation. “Through our wholly-owned, China based subsidiary, we are engaged in the development, manufacture and sale of our patented solar powered insect killer products for commercial agricultural growers.” This document is subject to copyright.
